Calgary Information Lunch
As those of you in Calgary and vicinity already know, we
postponed our planned visit to that area. We have now firmed up our
revised plans. We need to expand our base of awareness and support
in Southern Alberta. With this in mind, we are setting a time
mid-week when it may be more convenient for clergy and
denominational leaders and others to join us as well.
It will be a noon lunch and the focus will be on clarifying
the mission of Fairhaven, informing and updating.
Please note the location of the lunch and mark your calendar
if you live in Calgary or nearby communities.
As usual, there is no cost for the meal, but we do need your
reservation well in advance of the event so we can be prepared.
Time: 11:45 A.M. – 1:15 P.M.
Location: Gateway International Church
235 – 8 A Street NE Calgary (Bridgeland area)
Reservations: call our toll free line at 1-888-732-0111

The Walls are Up
Sunday, November 1, 2009: A great volunteer work crew from
Alberta were here last week and helped Gerry with framing up
the first floor of Phase One. Even though we had a snowfall,
the crew worked with enthusiasm and humor and got a lot
accomplished, right up to the floor joists for the second
floor. The weather has warmed up again and we are continuing on
with the building, planning to have the first level closed in
before winter sets in. God's faithfulness encourages us daily.

Construction Starts
On Thursday, August 20 we received the long-awaited permit to begin construction for the Charles Shepson Lodge. The next Tuesday was an exciting day as the cement trucks pulled up and the footings were poured.

The Lodge
It has taken several months to receive final permission to proceed with construction of The Charles Shepson Lodge. The preliminary work has been completed—footings are completed and work is underway for the foundation walls of the first level. It is exciting to see how God has provided funds that will allow us to complete the first step of Phase One which was our commitment for 2009.

New Staff
Garry and Lynne Schmidt began their ministry here at Fairhaven in April. Both Garry and Lynne are servant leaders who understand ministry to pastors and church leaders. Garry's focus will include retreats, spiritual direction, and counselling.
