Coaching is a proactive partnership between client and coach that assumes a large measure of health
and a strong desire to move forward in one’s life. A coach walks alongside clients as an encourager and facilitator, assisting the clients to discover and clarify their desired outcomes, identify suitable resources,
form strategies for action and maintain focus to stay on their preferred paths.
The coach helps clients find solutions rather than provide those for the clients. There is a fundamental belief that it is the client, not the coach, who is the “expert” of his/her own life. It is also foundational to Christian coaching to understand that the client possesses the resources of God within oneself to
discern and take appropriate action.
“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
