Counselling
Counselling is available to those who request this service when making reservations at Fairhaven with a recommended stay of one to two weeks.
There are times when leaders are faced with crises or unresolved issues in their personal lives and ministries. The counsellors at Fairhaven assist leaders through times of crises or unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving. The goal of our pastoral counselling is to support the leaders in moving to a healthier space where their pain or unhelpful patterns do not interfere with effective living. Life, as God intended, is to be freed to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love others as ourselves (Mark 12: 28–31).
Counseling at Fairhaven deals with issues that can respond
well to shorter term therapy. The scope of our counseling
includes marriage and family life, the workplace, conflict,
crisis, stress, burnout, non-clinical depression, grief, loss,
transition and soul-care.
While our counselling is mainly intended for those in
full-time Christian service, we do receive others when space is
available.
We serve all Christian denominations, missions and
parachurch organizations, thus our counselling is sensitive to
the differences in the varied traditions.
Our counsellors are required to have graduate level
training and Ministry experience.
Rates
The fee for counselling is maintained at a low rate of
$50.00/hour, but we will not refuse our services to anyone who
is unable to manage this cost. Daily sessions are usually 2
hours in length.
